A while ago I attended WebTomorrow, the leading event in Belgium on how digital is impacting our businesses. There were many interesting speakers but one of them appealed to me the most: Daan Roosegaarde.
He is a Dutch artist and innovator. A creative thinker and maker of social designs which explore the relation between people, technology and space.
His talk was inspirational. Not a surprise because he already did some Ted Talks.
He is the leader of Studio Roosegaarde, a social design lab where he and his team of engineers and designers grow ideas of future landscapes into reality. Their concepts touch the city on different levels.
Like Smog Free Towers:
The World Economic Forum also made a video about this and they hitted more than 27 million views:
Or what about Windlicht where they connected windmills to each other through lasers:
And Van Goghs Path that glows in the dark by itself:
And last but not least, a Smart Highway:
You can find much more inspirational projects on the website of Studio Roosegaarde.
Maybe I should write him a letter asking if he wants to start a project in my city…
